The Oregon Stars continued their successful spring by adding a tournament championship! The Stars went 4-0 with an average margin of victory of nearly 25 points. The Stars defeated Roots 16U team (71-25), revenged their loss from a couple weeks ago against Deep III (72-41), knocked off Elite 24 Volt (67-49) and beat the Eastern Washington Heat in the Championship Game (63-62).
The Stars found themselves trailing by one with 6 seconds left and had to go the length of the court. Connor Fohn inbounded to Seth Erickson who drove the length of the court and dumped it off to Brayden Massey who was clearly fouled with .2 seconds remaining on the clock. The junior from South Medford calmly knocked down both free throws to give the Stars the one point victory!
The Stars, now 16-8 on the season, don’t get much time off as they are back on the court this weekend in the Double Pump Northwest Tournament in Salem. The Stars will play two pool play games before moving into a bracketed 16 team tournament.
